Global Accessories (Dashmat, Downey Products, Lebra, Premier, Wolf Automotive, Wolf Marine and Wolf Powersports) Shutdown
I received an update this morning about the goings on at Global Accessories.
Global Accessories markets products under the Dashmat, Downey Products, Lebra, Premier, Spidy Webb, Wolf Automotive, Wolf Marine and Wolf Powersports labels. Last Thursday, April 16th, 2009, our Global Accessories customer service representative informed AccessorizeYourVehicle.com that due to problems in their warehouse, they have not been able to ship any products since April 13th. Although they did not have a specific date for when shipments would resume, we were told they were hoping to resolve the problem within a week and start shipping products again.
On April 20th, we received an update showing some orders had shipped using UPS instead of FedEx, so we figured the problems were resolved and product would again start shipping. Unfortunately this turned out to be an incorrect assumption on our part and we apologize for giving anyone false hope regarding this situation.
Today I spoke with a company representative and they informed me that the company was in assignment as of yesterday and most of the employees had been laid off Monday afternoon. There is still a skeleton crew at the company headquarters in Logan Utah but please do not call them because they can not release any information and do not have enough staff to handle the phone calls.
For the last month or so, the company has been negotiating with a potential buyer and was hoping to complete an agreement by month's end. If that happens, the company would likely resume operations within one to two weeks of the completed agreement.
At this time, all assets, including inventory are frozen and no shipments are planned. It is possible that current orders for products that are currently in stock will be shipped. All manufacturing has been shut down, so unless an agreement of sale is completed, only current inventory will be available.
Besides a general slow down in business due to the world economy, Global Accessories was also affected by a significant drop in their OEM sales to GM and Ford. The situation was made worse by the announcement of the availability of stimulus money for the automotive parts industry because the potential availability of these funds caused the banks to stop lending to companies like Global Accessories under the assumption that they would soon be receiving federal funds.
All the other products at AccessorizeYourVehicle.com, including Wolf Consoles are shipping as normal on a stock available and custom order basis.

We received an email from Global Accessories stating that
"Global Accessories, Inc. has entered into Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors. This is a first step in a process that will allow us to complete the negotiations necessary to quickly address our shipping issues and to improve our service to you, our customer."The email also stated that they hope to have more information available in the next "few days" concerning the shipment of open orders.
