Now that we have been carrying the Coverite covers for a few months, customers have been asking for care instructions for these good fitting and economical covers.  So I went directly to the source.  The response came from Charley Frank, AAP at Coverite's Industries main office.  His response was:

As for washing the covers. It is not recommended to wash them in any machines. It is recommended that you use a light cleaner like Fantastic® by using a cap full into a pail or gallon of water. Then using a damp sponge, clean the dirty area by lightly rubbing it and letting to dry naturally. The fabric is coated with various protection sprays, and harsh detergents and regular washing will remove those coatings.

As always, care should be taken so that the cover doesn’t touch the ground or dirt to avoid that particles don’t stick to the cover and then have an opportunity to scratch the vehicles surface. This is the same for all covers.
